BIODIVERSITY
bitche_bio.jpg

Bitche Golf Course stands out for its extensive natural areas and floral displays, which have become a hallmark of the site over time. Tall grasses are preserved along the fairways and in less-played zones, creating a haven for local wildlife and encouraging biodiversity. Around the tees, the clubhouse, and throughout the course, beds of hardy, nectar-rich plants have been planted. Their continuous bloom draws in pollinators. All of these green spaces are maintained without chemical treatments, striking a perfect balance between visual appeal and ecological responsibility.

Golf International Soufflenheim Baden-Baden

Golf International Soufflenheim Baden-Baden

Soufflenheim Baden-Baden International Golf Course is ideally situated just 30 minutes drive north from Strasbourg and 20 minutes from Baden-Baden. The renowned German golfer, Bernhard Langer, was responsible for the design of the course set in 120 hectares of beautiful green countryside surrounded by forests. Golf enthusiasts will appreciate the peace and quiet of the site, secluded from the bustle of everyday life. Manicured greens protected by technically placed hazards together with the breathtaking landscapes offer a unique and unforgettable experience.

FAVORITE HOLE N°6

This Par 4 is considered the most difficult hole on the course due mainly to the water hazard on the right side. However, keeping calm and focused, a good score is always possible and leaving the green with a par is very satisfying.

Golf de La Wantzenau

Golf de La Wantzenau

Just ten kilometers from Strasbourg, Golf de la Wantzenau nestles in a wooded area close to the river Rhine. Designed by the team of Jeremy Pern, English architect and Jean Garaïalde, one of France's top professional golfers, the 18 hole course offers a great variety of holes with water present throughout the course. Golfers may also enjoy an expansive, public training area which includes a grass driving range with short game area, two putting greens and a 12 hole practice course. Central in the beautiful 72 hectare site is the welcoming Clubhouse with restaurant and cozy Proshop.

FAVORITE HOLE N°4

This beautiful Par 3 offers the golfer a view of the first water feature on the course, a 10 hectare lake. The stunning weeping willows on either side of the Teebox add a romantic touch but to master the bunker in front of the green, choosing the right club is essential.

In 2015, Golf de la Wantzenau signed the "All united for more biodiversity" charter and has subsequently been recognised and achieved "Committed actor for Biodiversity" thanks to past efforts and ongoing policies. The tree planting program with local species continues, water features, mulched flower beds and bird boxes have been installed and irrigation programs have been reduced.

Golf du Kempferhof

Golf du Kempferhof

Located on the banks of the Rhine just 20 minutes drive from Strasbourg, the exceptional layout of the Golf du Kempferhof designed by Robert Von Hagge, is a true gem. The 85 hectare estate along the Rhine river is characterised by century old trees, landscaped mounding, deep bunkers and numerous lakes. The renovations started at the beginning of 2023 include a new 40 room 5-star hotel with spa and a golf training center unique in France. The restaurant has also taken a new direction offering high-end street food dishes.

FAVORITE HOLE N°14

This Par 3 is both eagerly awaited during the round but also dreaded. The legendary hole is150m from the Yellow Tees and 120 from the Red Tees to the peninsula green surrounded by water. With a little tension on the Tee, it may be the best shot of the day to reach dry land. The Pro's tip, take 1 club more and strike with confidence!

The irrigation system was modernised at the end of 2016 allowing a reduction in water consumption by one third during the season. There will be a zero pesticides policy in place by 2025 which will encourage even more wildlife to the already expansive biodiversity in place where close to 200 bird species have been identified.

Both beginners and accomplished players will appreciate the challenges and the rewards of the round.

FAVORITE HOLE N°12

The view from Tee 12 offers a magnificent vision of the beauty of Alsace with the Walbach valley and forest at the bottom of the hill and the famous vineyards beyond. The belltower of Saint-Martin's church appears from the brown tiled roofs of the half-timbered houses with their ochre-colored walls and the Rhine valley beyond.

Alsace Golf Links

Alsace Golf Links, bordering the 'Route des Vins', offers panoramic views of the vineyards, villages and the Vosges mountains from every hole. The course has a typical Irish links character and offers 5 different Teeboxes for every playing level. The respect for the origins of the game at Alsace Golf Links is reflected with "Hickory" clubs available for rent as the course encourages the 'running game'. After the game, the easy atmosphere of the Clubhouse courtyard in the historic water mill may tempt you to stay a while…

FAVORITE HOLE N°8

Hole number 8, "Ballons", is the shortest Par 3 on the Alsace Golf Links course measuring only 119 meters from the back Tees. The Tee shot plays from an elevated plateau to an undulating green protected by water and sand. Perfect wind judgement and a confident putting stroke is needed to make par.

In addition, the wool from the Merino sheep is recovered and transformed locally to produce durable and ecological golf socks which are available in the Proshop.

Golf Club des Bouleaux

Golf Club des Bouleaux

Golf des Bouleaux is a stone throw from Mulhouse and is a prime destination for golf enthusiasts seeking tranquility, natural surroundings, ecology awareness and golf culture. Set in a forest with lakes, the 18 hole course offers a challenge for golfers of all levels. Precision is required playing through the trees and to avoid the well placed hazards. The course is open all year round with an exceptional atmosphere as the mists appear over the lakes and the cooling effect of the 100 year old trees in summer. The practice area to develop your game has 22 Trackman posts and is unique in Eastern France.

FAVORITE HOLE N°7

This is without a doubt the most difficult hole on the course. The forest on the left, the water on the right, the bunker and the steep slope at the front of the raised green offer a mental and strategic challenge. Noting a par on the scorecard on the way to the next Teebox is very satisfying!
